Dozens of Edmunds students from Kindergarten through 5th grade played in the 2019-2020 YMCA Basketball season.  The YMCA of Greater Des Moines provides sponsorship for many teams of DMPS students, that included three teams of Edmunds students that live in the Homes Of Oakridge; a K through 2nd grade team, 3rd through 4th, and a 5th/6th grade team. The players all learn game fundamentals, the importance of of personal effort, and the rewards of team play, and there are many lessons to learn on the court while having a ton of fun! The games all start and finish with teams meeting and shaking hands; between that is hard play, fast moves, personal efforts important experiences of both winning and losing on the court!
