United Way Volunteers with Edmunds 3rd Graders

Edmunds Elementary was lucky to be one of 15 schools in Central Iowa to
take part of the United Way’s “Read, Learn Succeed” program. United Way
volunteers from Bankers Trust, Des Moines University and Shazam teamed
up with our 3rd graders for an hour of reading, sharing and fun. The
book they read together was STELLALUNA, and it was all part of the
annual United Way effort of over 600 volunteers in schools across
central Iowa.  United Way volunteers and Edmunds 3rd graders as shared
the book and all the learning activities that came with it. And the
kids got to keep the book, a character map, activities sheet and
crayons to take home.
