Jaynette Rittman, Principal

EDMUNDS ELEMENTARY
Jaynette Rittman is the principal of Edmunds Elementary where she has served since 2013.

After teaching for two years in California, Rittman joined Des Moines Public Schools in 1988 as a teacher at Moulton Elementary School. She has been an administrator with Des Moines Public Schools since 2001, serving as vice principal of the Mann Watrous Elementary School, principal of Adams Elementary School, and since 2007 has been principal of Garton Elementary School.

Rittman earned a BS in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma and an MS in administration from Drake University.

Rittman is an impactful leader who puts effective systems in place to meet the needs of every student at Edmunds. She is a strong instructional leader who coaches teachers to reach their full potential. She has mentored and grown many leaders throughout DMPS during her career.
