Edmunds Artists Win for Fire Safety!

Edmunds students were recognized in October in an art competition sponsored by the Des Moines Fire Department. The DMFD challenged students in Des Moines Schools to create a poster that promotes the Fire Department’s 2019 safety week theme:“Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!”

The contest was open to 2nd through 5th grade students, and the entries were judged by a panel of Des Moines Fire fighters. There were the four age categories, with four winners in each class. Edmunds art students won 9 awards – including two Grand Prize Winners! And by the way, the Grand prize winners prize is an exclusive ride to school on a fire engine! Thanks to the teachers who supported their students at the awards ceremony, and Congratulations to all our artists who entered the contest!
