Edmunds Students artwork exhibited for Black History Month.

In January, Edmunds students took part in an art and essay contest sponsored by the Des Moines Public Library, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Students from 3rd through 5th grades entered the competition, learning in art class about the legacy of Dr. King. The work was thoughtful and informed. We are excited for Edmunds third grader Hayden Hill, who was selected as the winner for the  elementary school division. The art and writing contest was sponsored by the Forest Avenue Library as part of their Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration and Black History Month.  The students were honored at a reception on MLK Day, and all of the work is on display at the Forest Avenue Library throughout the month of February.
