Harlem Globetrotter “Zeus” storms the court at Edmunds!

The Harlem Globetrotters were in Des Moines for a game at the Wells Fargo Arena the first week of April, which provided a great opportunity for the students and staff at Edmunds Elementary to receive a special visitor. On Friday April 7th Edmunds held an all school assembly to welcome one of the most dynamic Globetrotters, Zeus McClurkin, sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank. Representatives from Wells Fargo opened the assembly with an informative demonstration on the importance of saving, talking to the students about “needs” Vs. “wants.” Then Zeus stormed the court with his personality and talent, spending time with the students talking about standing up against bullying, and being a good friend. His message was heard loud and clear by the Edmunds students. But Zeus’ message wasn’t all serious, he also held the students (and teachers!) attention with his court antics and interaction, demonstrations of his Globetrotter ball-handling skills, and of course his slam dunking ability!
