The Iowa Wild and “Crash” visits the I.E.L.C. Unit at Edmunds!
The Iowa Wild professional hockey team made a special holiday delivery to Edmunds Elementary Kindergarten through 5th grade students who are in the Intensive English Language Center (I.E.L.C.). On Thursday, December 15th, the Iowa Wild, with the help of their mascot “Crash,” brought every student in the I.E.L.C. program a stuffed animal toy. The I.E.L.C. program teaches students new to the country English, and help them get oriented to the school community and expectations. The kids were shocked and amazed to meet the mascot and then to receive the scores of stuffed animals. The stuffed animals were donated by fans during the annual “Teddy Bear Toss” game on Friday, December 9th. The I.E.L.C. students were particularly amazed to meet Crash; they pulled on his tail, traded high fives, and shared plenty of hugs. Many thanks to the Iowa Wild!
