Edmunds Students go WILD
On November 10th, Edmunds 3rd and 4th grade students attended a special Iowa Wild Hockey game at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines. The Iowa Wild hockey team put on a “Wild About Education School Day” game, an exciting exhibition and an educational visit for thousands of students from Des Moines Public Schools and surrounding school districts. The Wild turned Wells Fargo Arena into the largest classroom in the state by offering up a variety of educational pauses in the game, including featuring the Science Center of Iowa, on hand for experiments between periods! Each student was given a hockey workbook that connected to the student’s learning goals, correlating to classroom learning programs. The young fans screamed throughout the game, especially when they saw themselves on the big screen, dancing and cheering!
