The 4th/5th grade boys and girls in Ms. Conradi’s Intensive English Language Center (IELC) class at Edmunds have been learning about fractions. The kids in the IELC classes are brand new to the country and are in the classroom to learn beginning English skills. The children come from all over the globe, including: Eritrea, Guatemala, Nepal, Mexico, El Salvador, Somalia and Myanmar.  Most of the children have not had hands-on math experiences before coming to this country.  They are enjoying learning the math vocabulary of fractions, and applying the new knowledge to real life situations.
