5th Grade Orchestra

5th grade orchestra students at Edmunds Elementary have been working hard at practice with their instruments for months now, under the direction of Des Moines Schools orchestra leader Douglas Brown. On May 18th the students put on a short program at the school gym, showing that a lot of hard work pays off! The show included some of the classics like “Ode To Joy” from Beethoven, and more contemporary pieces like the “French Folk Song,” and “Cripple Creek.”  Instructor Brown said that “I really enjoyed working with these very charming kids each week. I look forward to seeing them in middle school where I’ll get to spend more time with them and get into lots of fun and challenging music.”
