Nutcracker

Edmunds students were treated to a traditional Holiday treat in December with special presentations of The Nutcracker ballet. Students attended two separate performances of The Nutcracker on Friday December 12th. One show was at Hoyt Sherman Place, performed by Ballet Des Moines, who donated all the tickets for the school. The second show was at the Des Moines Civic Center, performed by Iowa Dance Theatre. Attendance for that performance, also at no charge for the school, was arranged by Edmunds music teacher Nella Thomas through Anne Downs of Iowa Dance Theatre. The performances were educational as well as entertaining, including information on ballet and theater, and many students meeting characters from the performance after the show.
