Edmunds Students Participate in Flag Football

This fall saw many Edmunds students participating in the flag football league sponsored by the YMCA of Greater Des Moines. Students from first through fifth grades at Edmunds played in September and October with nearly a dozen teams, playing every Saturday at the Grubb YMCA fields. The young Edmunds boys learned the fundamentals of the game, the value of teamwork and the importance of personal effort as they gained experience in the game. It is all part of the Y’s emphasis on health and well-being. The games brought families closer together, engaged teachers on crisp Saturday mornings, and made connections through fitness, sports and fun. Edmunds had over 25 players in the Y league.
