PBIS: Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports
At Edmunds, positive behavior in the classroom and the hallways are rewarded with monthly celebrations for those who achieve an affirmative rating for the month. Known as the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports) celebration, the students look forward to a fun and healthy reward, such as the last PBIS Celebration in October where they played relay games and practiced good sportsmanship! Those students who take part in the celebration are working for a positive and nurturing school environment, which allows them to be better learners. PBIS is utilized by all the teachers throughout the school, in the classrooms and hallways, and it plays a part in the daily lesson plans.
