The Edmunds Elementary Pawscars Gala!

Edmunds Elementary got an early jump on the Oscars race by holding their own awards show in November, the “Pawscars,” named after the Edmunds’ tiger mascot “Eddie.” The Pawscars red-carpet affair was held November 20th in the school gym in front of the student body, teachers and many parents. Numerous Pawscars were awarded to students who had maintained an excellent record for classroom behavior over the first three months of the school year. Good behavior in the classroom takes practice and focus, and the Edmunds Pawscars recognize those efforts, knowing that better classroom management leads to greater student accomplishments in the classroom

Class by class Edmunds Principal David Perrigo called student’s names;  the recipients walked down the red carpet to receive their own Pawscars trophy from Dean of Students Tracy Lust and Special Education Teacher Michelle Nelson-Obrien, both dressed for the event in their finest Hollywood fashions! Then each of the award winners proudly displayed their well-deserved Pawscars as they paraded across the gym to the excited applause of students, teachers and parents.

The next Pawscars ceremony promises to be an even bigger gala event, as the Edmunds Staff anticipates even more students earning the coveted golden award with excellent behavior. Pass the envelope please!
