Edmunds Artists Draw A Picture of Community Pride

Edmunds students took part in a poster-art contest in April that was designed to help build pride in their community. Sponsored by the The Links, Incorporated, an international not-for-profit corporation with 15,000 professional women of color. The Links core values are friendship, service, commitment and respect for  themselves and others throughout the community.

The students chose their theme from three choices: Inclusion and Diversity; Ecology, and Bullying. They sketched out ideas and finished their final work in a week’s time. The student’s posters were then judges by a group of community supporters, and two posters were selected to move on the the national competition of the The Links program. Congratulations to Edmunds  4th grader Vanessa Kamikazi and  3rd grader Moang Kerjiok for their 1st place work! Their work travels on the the National competition. All of the participants were recognized at a reception on April 7th, sponsored by The Links.
