Edmunds celebrates diversity

Students in Miss Oelmann’s 2nd grade class at Edmunds have been discussing the importance of team work and embracing their differences as a personal strength, as well as strengthening the team.  On Friday, February 16th  the class celebrated together with an activity from Edmunds’ Yoga program, called Yoga4Classroom. The 2nd graders talked about what each student holds closest to their heart. Some examples that were given were family, playing, school, the Spaghetti Works downtown,  and pizza! They also outlined their thoughts and feelings on artistically rendered hearts that they took home to share with family. By engaging with this activity during  Edmunds’ “Friday Friendship party,” each student had the opportunity to express themselves, feel good about their differences, and grow closer with their fellow classmates.
