Preschool Students Learn about Zoo Animals

This month Edmunds students in Ms. Stoffa’s preschool class are learning about animals and have created a zoo in their room. There are six centers in the classroom that have been turned into different sections of a zoo;  a gift shop, animal hospital, house, ticket booth, cafeteria lounge, and animal exhibit.

The students are creating a variety of items for the zoo including clay animals and animal-inspired paintings that are sold at the zoo gift shop. The students also take on roles such as zoo keeper, vet, animal nutritionist, ticket seller, art salesman, painter, or zoo visitor. The roles are allowing the students to imagine and learn how a zoo operates and the duties each worker has to do to run a successful zoo!
